Rotary
Rotary International is the most effective philanthropic organization in the world because it is an all-volunteer system and the local chapters work together to get a project done. For example, many American Rotary Clubs participated with the Haitian Rotarians to deliver aid. Sally is active in the Cambridge Rotary Club and is pictured here with Richard Nurse, fellow member. African Food and Peace Foundation
Martha Dolben, center photo, is the Director of the African Food and Peace Foundation (www.AFPFonline.org) which exists to support the Ugandan Rural Development and Training Corporation (www.urdt.net)
This Ugandan organization has, over a 25 year period, brought leadership and resources to the village of Kagadi, Uganda through a process of strategic planning with villagers. What started with a few huts, has become a thriving village with a radio station, a 100 bed hospital, a vocational school, a university for women, and a cooperative farm. This is an exciting program that should be a model for all third world development. I look forward to continued support of Martha in her efforts and urge you to join in.
